Entry Procedures

No entry materials will be returned.
No faxed or e-mail entries.
There is no entry fee.

Print Applicants

  1. Submit ONE copy of the qualifying materials.

  2. All clips must show the name of the publication, story headline, page, and date of publication.

  3. Entries must be on 8-1/2 x 11 inch white pages without fold-overs or reductions. Broadsheet originals may need cut-and-pasting. Photocopies are also acceptable. Do not bind or otherwise embellish entries. No staples, folders, etc.

Broadcast and Online Applicants

  1. Submit ONE copy of the qualifying materials and one transcript.

  2. Submit cassettes, ½ inch VHS, DVD or CD with the qualifying material clearly designated on the label by title, date aired, length in minutes, and position on the tape by counter number.

Screeners

A Board of Regional Judges has been selected of professionals who otherwise have no relationship with the Mollie Parnis Livingston Foundation and have established reputations for competence in the field of journalism. Further, they are young enough to understand the special challenges of The Livingston Awards yet are too old to enter.

Deadline

Entries for calendar year 2008 must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2009. Competition is limited to work done during the calendar year ending December 31, 2008. Finalists will be notified by May 1, 2009. Announcement of winners will take place in June, 2009.

Entry Form

An html version and an Adobe PDF format copy of the application are available. The entry form must be downloaded, printed, and mailed to the address below. The .pdf copy of the application can be filled in electronically and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Proof of Age

Contest finalists will be notified by May 1, 2009. At that time, they must submit a copy of their current U.S. driver’s license, birth certificate or passport identification page.
