Shirley Leung

Shirley Leung is the assistant managing editor of business news at The Boston Globe. She oversees the daily business section, as well as the Sunday “Money & Careers” and real estate sections. She is also responsible for business coverage on boston.com and several magazines — Globe 100, Top Places to Work, and Diversity Boston. A recent recognition by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers named the Globe's business section one of the best in the country in 2010.

Prior to arriving at the Globe in 2004, Shirley spent six years at the Wall Street Journal as a reporter in the Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles bureaus. She covered a variety of topics, including development, transportation, and the restaurant industry.

Shirley is the co-president of the New England chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association. She is also a regular guest on New England Cable News' "This Week in Business."

A graduate of Princeton University, Shirley began her career as a metro reporter at The Baltimore Sun. She is a proficient speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
